About Us

Members

Established in 1994 by 13 salty friends from NYC, KSA has grown to over 150 active members. Our club consists of sail and power boat owners, as well as crew who don't own a boat.  Some of our members are expert ocean captains and some have no experience at all, but all share a love of the water and boating.

KSA promotes LGBTQ awareness and inclusiveness on the water. We are a diverse group welcoming to all; gay, lesbian, bisexual, straight, and transgender.  Our friendly, nonjudgmental group have joined together to share new experiences on the water and to learn and grow from one another.

In 2023, we are celebrating our 30th anniversary.

Meetings

KSA meets every second Thursday of the month from March to November as well as additional events throughout the year. Our meetings are open to current members, non-members, and guests.

Meetings generally start at 6:30pm with cocktails, followed by a general meeting. A buffet dinner is served. Please see the list of events for further details.

Throughout the year, our organization sponsors special events including flotillas, charitable events, group dinners, and training programs. KSA special events are for members only. Please click membership to become a member.

Events

Each season offers unique boating opportunities; to sail your own boat with us, to crew on one of our member boats, and to discover our fleet. KSA does not rent or charter boats. Member boats are located from Eastern Long Island to Connecticut and down the Jersey Shore, with sailing opportunities weekdays, weekends, and overnight.
