Western Long Island Labor Day Flotilla in Oyster Bay!!!
Labor Day in Oyster Bay!!!
Saturday, September 1st: We'll meet up in Oyster Bay Cove in the late afternoon for a raft-up and potluck dinner (see red circle on attached chart page). Depending on the weather, we'll stay rafted up overnight. For those captains who would rather be on moorings, Oyster Bay Marine Center has transient moorings (516-624-2400 or VHF 71). Note that OBMC launch service will NOT pick up or drop off at the raft-up.
Sunday, September 2nd: If the weather's nice, we'll swim, and drink, and swim some more. If not, we'll organize a trip up to Sagamore Hill to visit Teddy Roosevelt's "Summer White House" (recently renovated and reopened). There's also the museum and nature walk there. Sunday night we'll be having a group dinner at Canterbury's (46 Audrey Avenue). For those coming to Oyster Bay by train, the train station is conveniently located just a five minute walk from town.
